Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen, has reportedly agreed to a permanent transfer to Turkish club Galatasaray, according to emerging reports from both European and Nigerian sources.
The Napoli forward, who has attracted widespread interest from top clubs in Europe and the Middle East, is said to have verbally committed to joining the Istanbul-based side following a positive loan stint.
Reports from Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport and Nigerian journalist Buchi Laba revealed that the 25-year-old has opted for Galatasaray over more financially rewarding offers from Saudi Arabia, as well as potential moves to Premier League clubs like Manchester United and Liverpool.
Galatasaray are now in discussions to activate the €75 million release clause in Osimhen’s contract with Napoli. Should the deal go through, it would become one of the most high-profile and costly transfers in Turkish football history.
Sources close to the player suggested that Osimhen was swayed by Galatasaray’s competitive spirit, strong fanbase, and overall vision, all of which contributed to his decision to make the move permanent.
Osimhen joined Napoli in 2020 and was instrumental in their Serie A triumph during the 2022–2023 season. Talks between both clubs are still ongoing.
