U.S. Presidential Award recipient nominated for 2025 National Diaspora Merit Award

Voke Ogueh, a Nigerian educator recently honoured with the prestigious U.S. Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST), has been nominated for the 2025 National Diaspora Merit Award.

Her nomination was announced by Arco Group Plc, a key player in Nigeria’s oil and gas servicing industry.

In a statement signed by its Group Managing Director and CEO, Alfred Okoigun, the company highlighted its commitment to celebrating Nigerian excellence, particularly in science and technology.

The National Diaspora Merit Award will be presented during the annual Nigerians in Diaspora celebration, set to take place in Abuja from July 25 to 26.

“Recognising Voke Ogueh on a national platform is a way to honour her exceptional contribution and inspire others in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM),” Okoigun stated.

She currently serves as Vice President of Digital Education at Scrumban AI, a Texas-based tech company. In this role, she heads the Talent Acceleration Programme Team, which equips young professionals with digital tools, mentorship, and scalable industry solutions.

“My mission is to close skill gaps, particularly among young graduates, and to empower the emerging workforce with digital productivity tools and a growth mindset,” Ogueh said.

“I want to encourage young Africans to realise their potential and create impact globally.”
