A United Kingdom–based Nigerian, Benjamin Kuti, popularly known as Oluomo of Derby, has appealed to Nigerians at home and in the diaspora to help trace the family of the late Dr. Tayo Olarewaju, who reportedly died in London on Tuesday.
Kuti made the appeal in a post on X, where he revealed that the deceased, a former proprietor of a college in Clapham, London, left behind a 23-year-old daughter who has been searching for him and now hopes to reconnect with his relatives.
“Nigerians home and abroad, we need your help.
“We are looking for the family of Dr. Tayo Olarewaju, who sadly passed away on Tuesday here in London 💔. He previously ran a college in Clapham, London.
“He has a 23-year-old daughter who has been searching for him and now hopes to reconnect with his loved ones.
“Just for the child to know her roots.
“If you have any information or can help locate his immediate family, please send me a DM,” Kuti wrote.
He urged members of the public with credible information about the deceased’s relatives to reach out urgently, stressing that reconnecting the young woman with her father’s family was crucial for her emotional well-being and sense of identity.
