The Lagos State Caucus of the All Progressives Congress in the United Kingdom has appealed to Nigerians at home and abroad to rally behind President Bola Tinubu’s administration and work towards securing his re-election for a second term.
The call was made at the caucus’ End-of-Year Dinner held in Bromley, London, according to a statement made available to Sunday PUNCH.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the caucus, Tayo Shodeinde, expressed confidence in the Renewed Hope Agenda of the President, saying the group was proud of the direction of the administration.
He also commended what he described as the pace of development under Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, which he said was “second to none.”
Also addressing the gathering, the Chairman of APC UK and Chairman of the Diaspora Forum, Tunde Doherty, delivered a lecture titled “The Impact of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the Diaspora.”
He outlined how the administration’s policies were influencing diaspora participation, investment flows and Nigeria’s image abroad, while stressing that Nigerians overseas have a key role to play in supporting governance reforms and national development.
Another caucus member, Philip Edewor, urged party members to embrace discipline, unity and strategic thinking within party structures, particularly among diaspora chapters, in order to sustain relevance and effectiveness.
The third keynote speaker, Felix Ajayi, called on APC members in the diaspora to remain consistent in promoting the party’s achievements and to continue contributing meaningfully to national development from outside the country.
