Nigerian students studying in different cities across Morocco on Tuesday trooped out in large numbers to celebrate and cheer the Super Eagles following their victory over Uganda’s Cranes.
In a video shared on X (formerly Twitter) and sighted by Diaspora NG, the students were seen jubilating in cold weather as they hailed Nigeria’s 3–1 win, describing the result as expected and well deserved.
Some of the students, who said they travelled from places such as Rabat, Fez and Ujda, expressed confidence in the Super Eagles, insisting that Uganda posed little threat to the Nigerian team.
The video showed the students, many wearing heavy jackets, explaining that they were based in different Moroccan cities but came together out of shared national pride and love for Nigerian football.
While most of those interviewed were Nigerians schooling in Morocco, a few non-Nigerians also joined the celebration, declaring support for the Super Eagles and identifying with the group’s excitement.
The students also voiced optimism about Nigeria’s chances in the competition, predicting further victories and expressing belief that the team would go on to lift the trophy.
They ended the gathering by chanting support slogans for the Super Eagles, saying their presence in Morocco to back the team was a good sign and a boost for Nigeria’s quest for glory.
