Irregular migrants not safe in China – Nigerian man warns (Video)

Concerns have been raised over the safety of undocumented foreigners in China following a viral video in which a Nigerian man warned that security checks have intensified, particularly against black migrants.

In the video sighted by Diaspora NG, the man, identified as speaking from China, cautioned Nigerians and other Africans without valid residency papers to avoid moving around late at night, especially between midnight and 5am.

He claimed that authorities had begun coordinated operations aimed at rounding up undocumented foreigners, alleging that many black migrants were being targeted for arrest and deportation.

The man warned that individuals without proper documents risk being stopped on the streets, harassed and immediately detained once they are unable to present valid identification.

According to him, those arrested are often deported to their home countries, with Nigeria mentioned as a major destination for returnees.

He further alleged that deported individuals are sometimes held for days, fined heavily and required to pay millions of naira in penalties, in addition to funding their own return flight tickets.

The speaker urged Nigerians with relatives and friends in China to warn them discreetly, advising against frequent phone calls that could draw attention to their whereabouts.

He appealed to migrants to remain cautious, stressing that years of struggle abroad could be abruptly cut short if they fall into the hands of immigration authorities during the ongoing clampdown.
