ADC gets representatives In US, UK, France, others

The African Democratic Congress has unveiled plans to establish a Special Representatives Network across 12 major cities worldwide to engage foreign governments and institutions on Nigeria’s political situation.

The party disclosed that the initiative is aimed at providing regular briefings to international stakeholders, including parliaments, rights organisations, and global media outlets.

In a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC said the move was prompted by what it described as rising undemocratic tendencies in the country since July 2025.

The party alleged that opposition figures have faced harassment, while there have been attempts to undermine legitimate political leadership.

According to the statement, the designated representatives will also engage diaspora communities and democracy-focused institutions in their respective locations.

Cities selected for the initiative include Washington DC, London, Brussels, Berlin, Ottawa, Paris, Pretoria, Addis Ababa, Nairobi, Accra, Geneva, and New York.

The ADC added that the envoys would provide updates on political developments, electoral integrity, human rights concerns, and alleged repression of opposition voices.

It further announced the launch of a National Documentation Initiative to track incidents such as threats, arrests, and attacks on party members, as part of efforts to strengthen its position ahead of the 2027 general elections.
