Arsenal have confirmed an agreement to sign 16-year-old Nigeria-eligible striker Victor Ozhianvuna from Shamrock Rovers, with the deal set to be completed in January 2027 when he turns 18.
The announcement was made on the club’s official website on Friday.
Ozhianvuna made headlines earlier this year when he became the second-youngest player to feature in the UEFA Conference League.
He came on as a substitute in Shamrock Rovers’ clash against Molde in the intermediate stage second leg.
He quickly followed that breakthrough with his first senior goal in an FAI Cup second-round victory over Wexford FC, underlining his composure and attacking instincts.
A Republic of Ireland youth international, Ozhianvuna has represented the country at under-15 to under-18 levels, making nine appearances in the process.
His performances have established him as one of the brightest prospects in Irish football.
His displays also attracted the attention of several top European scouts, prompting Arsenal to move swiftly to secure his services.
As part of the plan, the youngster will remain with Shamrock Rovers to continue his development until he clocks 18.
Ozhianvuna has already caught the eye in the League of Ireland Premier Division and in European competitions, where his maturity and technical skill have stood out.
Since his senior debut, the teenager has featured in 16 first-team matches across all competitions.
The transfer is subject to regulatory approval, with both clubs confident of completing the process smoothly.
