Brampton honours Nigerian philanthropist, Adebayo-Oyetoro

The City of Brampton in Ontario, Canada, has honoured Nigerian philanthropist Ayomikun Adebayo-Oyetoro with a Certificate of Recognition for her commitment to humanitarian causes, especially her support for widows, vulnerable women, children and Nigerians living abroad.

Ayomikun, founder of Fab Care Foundation and Managing Director of Fab Realty Homes, received the award at a ceremony held in Lagos.

She is widely recognised for her quiet but consistent charitable interventions, including rescue and reintegration efforts for Nigerians in countries such as Oman and Libya, alongside support for widows, orphans, and the underprivileged at home.

The certificate, signed by Mayor Patrick Brown, praised her leadership, partnerships, and dedication to strengthening international relations.

It also highlighted her contributions to cultural exchange, economic development, and community uplift.

Speaking on her motivation, Ayomikun said giving back has always been her core purpose.

“For me, giving back is not for the cameras; it is from the heart. My focus has always been on widows, children, vulnerable, and young people who need support but have no spotlight. At Fab Care Foundation, we believe in quiet impact. We don’t chase visibility, we simply go where the need is greatest.”

She described the honour as an encouragement to deepen her humanitarian outreach.

“This recognition from the City of Brampton encourages me to do even more. It shows that compassion has no borders, and our collective efforts can truly strengthen communities across continents,” she said.

Richard Forward, Commissioner for Budget and Planning for Brampton, expressed excitement about future collaboration. Maurice Imadu, Specialist for Community Engagement at the Mayor’s Office, emphasised the city’s readiness to expand partnerships with Nigeria’s growing diaspora community.

The event also featured notable figures including Chief Mrs Kehinde Okoroafor, Founder of Make Mee Foundation; Mrs Ayopeju Fabusuyi, CEO of Alluring Herbal Empire; Dr David Asogba, CEO of Reftop Global Homes; Mr Rowland Nwaokolo, Founder of Big Shoulder Foundation; and the Co-Founder of All Seasons Global Farms.
