Grammy-winning Nigerian music star, Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has achieved another major milestone by becoming the most certified Nigerian artist in France.
The latest addition to his accolades comes with a new SNEP certification for his hit single “It’s Plenty”, further solidifying his dominance in the French music market.
The recognition follows closely on the heels of the diamond certification awarded to “We Pray”, his collaborative track with British rock band Coldplay.
With a total of 15 official certifications in France, Burna Boy has extended his lead as Nigeria’s most decorated musical export in the country, reflecting his growing global influence.
“It’s Plenty” was released as part of his seventh studio album, ‘I Told Them’, and has enjoyed impressive commercial success, particularly in France. The track’s popularity adds to a remarkable run for Burna Boy in 2024, during which he made history by selling out the 80,000-capacity Stade de France, becoming one of the few African artists to do so.
Earlier this year, he also made headlines as the first artist to appear on the cover of Billboard France Magazine, a testament to his widespread appeal across Europe.
Among Burna Boy’s most celebrated certifications in France are the diamond-status hits “Last Last” and “On The Low”.
He also boasts platinum plaques for tracks like “Gbona”, “YE”, and “City Boy”. Other notable songs such as “Alone”, “For My Hand” (featuring Ed Sheeran), and “Anybody” have achieved gold certification.
In addition, Burna Boy recently earned another platinum certification for “Donne-Moi L’accord”, a collaboration with French music star Dadju.
Burna Boy’s continued success in France not only cements his place as a leading figure in African music but also highlights his crossover appeal in one of Europe’s most competitive music markets.
