Celebrated Nigerian author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie has completed a much-anticipated “Homecoming Tour” across Nigeria to mark the release of her first novel in 12 years, Dream Count.
The tour, which spanned Lagos, Abuja, and Enugu, offered a mix of literature, music, and culture — and was widely described as a powerful tribute to storytelling and identity.
Adichie, who has gained international acclaim for her literary contributions, kicked off the tour in Lagos, a city she described as “the beating heart of Nigeria” and a place she still calls home.
The Lagos stop featured poetry performances, music, readings from Dream Count, and conversations exploring themes like grief, memory, and aspiration.
From there, the tour moved to Abuja and culminated in Enugu, where Adichie was a special guest at the inaugural Things Fall Apart Festival, organized by the Centre for Memories.
Her presence at the festival, which celebrates Nigerian history, culture, and literature, added special significance to the closing event of the tour.
Dream Count has received widespread global praise for its emotional depth and social relevance.
