Friends and family members from across the globe came together to celebrate US-based lawyer, Akintunde Festus Adeyemo, as he marked his 40th birthday in grand style in Ibadan.
The celebration, held in the Olorunda Abaa area of the city, drew loved ones, admirers, and well-wishers from within and outside Nigeria.
The event also featured the conferment of a traditional chieftaincy title on Adeyemo, in recognition of his contributions to the legal profession and the community.
He was honoured with the title Otunba Bamofin of Olorunda Land, while his wife, Oluwadamilola Babatope Adeyemo, was installed as Yeye Otunba Bamofin.
Adding a personal touch to the celebration was the quiet unveiling of his newly built home in Ibadan, which symbolized a major milestone in his journey.
Akintunde Adeyemo, the Founding and Principal Attorney of The Law Office of Akintunde F. Adeyemo, PLLC in the United States, is widely respected for his expertise in immigration law.
Known for his client-first approach, Adeyemo has earned a solid reputation for passionately advocating for immigrants.
Before launching his own law firm, he served as a law clerk to Colonel John Wojcik, General Counsel of the Michigan National Guard, and later worked at Ernst and Young LLP, where he provided corporate compliance services to multinational firms.
He currently serves as General Counsel to the i-Scholar Initiative and is also the founder of Aletheia Media Lab, a platform dedicated to promoting transparency and tracking financial crimes.
A prolific writer and popular voice on Facebook, Adeyemo has written over 160 thought-provoking articles on politics and law. Many of his works have been published in national newspapers such as Punch, The Nation, and This Day, earning him widespread admiration for his bold and detailed commentary.
He holds a law degree from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School, a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Duquesne University, and an associate degree from the Community College of Allegheny County.
He is licensed to practice in Michigan and admitted to the US District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.
Beyond his legal work, Adeyemo is a Certified Fraud Examiner and a Certified Risk Management Professional. He is also a philanthropist who consistently offers grants and financial support to his followers and members of the World People University, an online community he leads that blends serious discourse with humour and inspiration.
