Motherwell release Nigerian forward Moses Ebiye, three others

Scottish Premiership side Motherwell have confirmed the departure of Nigerian striker Moses Ebiye, along with three other players, as part of their end-of-season squad changes.

According to an official statement published on the club’s website, Ebiye will exit when his contract expires on June 30, 2025.

Also released are Harry Paton, Steve Seddon, and Davor Zdravkovski.

Ebiye joined Motherwell in March 2024 and made an immediate impact, scoring a dramatic late winner on his debut against Dundee.

Over the course of the season, the 28-year-old registered goals against several teams including St. Johnstone (twice), Aberdeen, Ross County, Clyde FC, and Kilmarnock, bringing his total to seven goals in 39 appearances across all competitions.

Before his stint in Scotland, Ebiye launched his professional career with Akwa United in Nigeria before moving to Norway.

There, he represented Lillestrøm, HamKam, Tromsø, and Aalesund, amassing 19 goals in the Norwegian top division.

He also recorded 12 goals and seven assists in 42 matches in the OBOS League.

Ebiye concluded his time at Motherwell by scoring the club’s final goal of the 2024–25 campaign, coming off the bench to salvage a 1–1 draw against Ross County on May 18.

Motherwell expressed appreciation for Ebiye’s contributions and extended their best wishes as he moves on to the next chapter of his career.
