A Nigerian political leader, Chief Moses Ternenge, has been awarded a prestigious fellowship by the Commonwealth Academy of Leadership and Management, United Kingdom, in recognition of his contributions to leadership, governance and community development.
Ternenge, who is the leader of the All Progressives Congress in Kwande Local Government Area of Benue State, was nominated as a Fellow of the UK-based academy, a designation regarded as the highest grade of membership within the institution.
The fellowship places him among a select group of global leaders acknowledged for sustained excellence, ethical leadership and measurable impact across governance and management sectors.
Reacting to the honour, the Executive Chairman of Ado Local Government Area, Benue State, Mr Oche Sunday Oche, described the award as a fitting recognition of Ternenge’s leadership qualities, mentorship record and long-standing commitment to public service.
Oche said the recognition also reflects Ternenge’s role in grassroots mobilisation, community empowerment and support for efforts to stabilise Benue State and strengthen the All Progressives Congress under the current administration.
According to information accompanying the nomination, Ternenge was selected for his consistent advocacy for inclusive governance, youth empowerment and capacity-building initiatives across communities.
The academy noted that his leadership style has contributed to the strengthening of community institutions, promotion of dialogue and advancement of participatory development.
As a Fellow of the Commonwealth Academy of Leadership and Management, Ternenge joins other accomplished leaders whose work continues to influence policy, governance practice and societal advancement across different regions.
