The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Hon. Abike Dabiri Erewa, has congratulated Nigerian born United States naval officer, Lieutenant Commander Victor Agunbiade, on his conferment with the prestigious Meritorious Service Medal approved by the President of the United States.
In a statement issued on Saturday by NiDCOM’s Head of Public Relations and Protocol Unit, Abdur Rahman Balogun, Dabiri Erewa described the honour as a strong affirmation of the discipline, excellence and outstanding contributions Nigerians continue to make across the world.
She noted that Agunbiade’s record of service between September 2023 and November 2025 reflected bravery, professionalism and integrity, qualities she said have become common among many Nigerians thriving abroad.
Dabiri Erewa added that the award represented not only a personal milestone for Agunbiade but also a collective national pride that showcases Nigeria as a country blessed with exceptional talent.
She encouraged Nigerians in the diaspora to stay committed to excellence and wished Agunbiade greater success as he advances in his military career.
