UK-based Nigerian cautions against hasty relocation from Nigeria

A United Kingdom-based Nigerian, Dele Olawanle, has advised Nigerians to exercise caution before relocating abroad, warning of potential personal and financial risks.

Olawanle, in a post shared on his X account and sighted by Diaspora NG, he urged individuals with stable jobs or thriving businesses in Nigeria to carefully reconsider their decision to migrate.

He noted that many Nigerians abandon well-established lives at home in pursuit of opportunities in the UK without fully assessing the consequences.

According to him, several men who initially sponsored their families abroad later faced unexpected domestic challenges after joining them.

He alleged that in some cases, family disputes escalated to the point where authorities such as the police and social services became involved.

Olawanle claimed that such situations have led to some men being removed from their homes and denied access to their children.

He added that many affected individuals were unable to return to Nigeria after losing their financial base.

The coach emphasised the need for intending migrants to have contingency plans and financial safeguards before making relocation decisions.

He further advised that individuals should critically evaluate their family dynamics before taking irreversible steps such as selling off assets.
