Authorities in India have arrested a Nigerian woman suspected of trafficking illegal drugs while traveling by road between Delhi and Bangalore.
According to a report by The Indian Express on Friday, operatives from the Pune Regional Unit of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence intercepted the woman based on actionable intelligence.
Upon search, officers reportedly discovered 3.8 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, estimated to be worth around Rs 7.6 crore.
Following a field test, the substance was confirmed to be amphetamine.
The woman was taken into custody under the country’s Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
Officials have since launched investigation into the drug’s source, distribution channels, and any possible collaborators connected to the case.
