Tragedy as Zimbabwean PhD holder stabbed death in broad daylight

A Zimbabwean mother and recently graduated PhD holder, Dr. Fortune Gomo, was stabbed to death in a broad daylight attack on South road in Dundee, Scotland.

Gomo, believed to be in her 30s, was walking with her 10-year-old daughter at around 4:25 p.m. when she was reportedly attacked by two individuals.

Emergency services responded swiftly, but despite their efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Scotland police confirmed the arrest of a 20-year-old man in connection with the incident.

However, the identity of the suspect has not been publicly released, sparking frustration from members of the community who are demanding transparency and accountability.

Questions have also been raised about the well-being of the young child who is believed to have witnessed the horrific attack.

Gomo had recently completed her doctorate at the University of Dundee and was celebrated for her contributions to community health.

Friends and colleagues have described her as a dedicated academic and a compassionate individual who was deeply committed to helping others.

Footage shared online in the aftermath of the incident shows shaken residents and members of the Black community expressing anger over what they perceive as a muted response from both police and media.
