The interim leadership of Nigerians in the United Kingdom has formally distanced itself from its former president, Benjamin Kuti, widely known as Oluomo of Derby.
In a disclaimer issued and pinned to its X page, the group cautioned members of the public against engaging in any dealings with Kuti, saying such actions would be undertaken at personal risk.
The organisation said Kuti no longer has any form of connection with Nigerians in the UK Community Limited, stressing that he holds no authority, interest or relationship, whether directly or indirectly, with the body.
It further disclosed that Kuti had stepped down from all corporate and administrative positions within the organisation, although no reason was given for the public disclaimer.
The group emphasised that it neither supports nor aligns with any activities, statements or representations made by Kuti, warning that any claim suggesting leadership or representation of the organisation by him should be ignored.
Similarly, a global financial technology firm, LemFi, denied any formal association with Kuti, clarifying that he is not its brand ambassador or official representative.
In a statement titled Clarification: Our relationship with Benjamin Kuti, posted on Wednesday, the company said it has no partnership, endorsement or contractual agreement with the former community leader.
LemFi added that it maintains zero tolerance for ethical or financial misconduct, noting that Kuti had earlier announced on social media that he resigned from leadership roles following controversies within the community.
