A UK-based lawyer, author, and business consultant, Dele Olawanle, has commended the Ryanair crew on Flight FR15 for their prompt and decisive action after a female passenger was removed from a London-to-Athens flight for making racist remarks.
The incident, according to Olawanle, occurred on June 9, 2025, shortly before takeoff.
Olawanle in a post on X formerly Twitter on Monday and obtained by Diaspora Nigeria, revealed that the confrontation began when the woman attempted to place her bag under his wife’s legs.

According to him, after his wife objected, the woman reportedly said, “That is how Black people behave.”
Olawanle immediately reported the comment to a crew member, who intervened and firmly informed the woman that both her actions and language were unacceptable.
The woman then allegedly directed another racist comment at a mixed-race crew member, saying, “You also are confused about your race.”
The pilot was promptly notified and instructed the cabin crew to remove the passenger from the aircraft.
She was escorted off the plane and barred from flying with the rest of the passengers.
Olawanle praised the professionalism of the Ryanair team, who also asked if he wished to file a formal complaint.
He declined, seemingly satisfied with the handling of the situation.
Sharing his thoughts on social media, Olawanle warned that people with such attitudes might hold influential positions in society, saying, “There will be some people like that woman in some establishments where any Black person applying for a job, the right to stay, or medical treatment would not get it. She was racist to the core.”
“Say no to racism,” he concluded in his post.
