US based APC chieftain urges greater diaspora role in governance

Alahja Khairat Animashaun Ajiboye, a United States based chieftain of the All Progressives Congress APC and former Lagos governorship aspirant, has urged stronger engagement by Nigerians abroad in the country’s governance to harness their skills for national development.

Speaking with journalists in Abuja on Sunday, Animashaun Ajiboye said the diaspora community possesses valuable expertise and experience that, if channelled home, would accelerate progress across sectors.

She appealed for renewed hope among Nigerians living overseas in 2026, saying greater inclusion in public life would give them opportunities to contribute meaningfully to the nation’s affairs.

The APC stalwart also praised the resilience shown by Nigerians in 2025 and urged continued backing for the administration of President Bola Tinubu, endorsing the government’s agenda to build a more prosperous and inclusive society.

She concluded by wishing the APC leadership, diaspora members and all Nigerians a peaceful and prosperous 2026.
