A Nigerian pastor based in the United States, Pastor Akinsola Kings, has unveiled plans to hold a series of campus revival conferences across several Nigerian universities in a bid to ignite spiritual renewal among students.
The programme, titled Global Campus Reignition, is an initiative of the American International Christian University in South Carolina, in collaboration with the Joint Campus Christian Fellowship and other Christian student groups within the host institutions.
According to a statement issued on Friday, the first phase of the conference will kick off at the University of Ibadan on June 14, 2025.
It will then move to Lagos State University on June 20 and continue at the University of Port Harcourt on June 28.
The organisers explained that the campaign is focused on revitalising students’ spiritual journeys, encouraging discipleship, and spotlighting young individuals already contributing meaningfully to the work of God on campuses.
“Preparations are in full swing, and all is set to ensure the events make a lasting impact,” the statement noted.
Pastor Kings emphasised that the gatherings aim to help attendees reaffirm their faith, deepen their commitment to Christ, and move from passive churchgoers to active voices in evangelism and campus ministry.
Originally launched in the United States in 2024, the conference is expected to become an annual platform where students can strengthen their faith, discover purpose, and align themselves with the global mission of spreading the gospel.
Kings pointed out that although there are an estimated 70 million Christian students aged 18 to 24 worldwide, a significant number lack the drive to influence their world spiritually.
“In response to this, the university created this platform to mobilise Christian students and foster a global community of young believers equipped to transform society,” he said.
The event will also feature appearances from gospel ministers, musicians, scholars, youth influencers, athletes, and professionals from various industries.
