The United States Mission in Nigeria has cautioned Nigerians against violating the terms of their visas, warning that such actions could jeopardise their chances of future travel to the U.S.
In a post on its official X handle on Tuesday and sighted by Diaspora NG, the Mission stated: “It’s important to use your #USVisa according to its terms. Misusing it, for example, by overstaying, may affect your ability to travel to the U.S. in the future.”
The advisory comes amid growing concerns over visa misuse, particularly cases of overstaying.
The U.S. Mission reiterated that compliance with immigration rules remains a key requirement for Nigerians hoping to maintain eligibility for future visits, studies, or work opportunities in the country.
