NiDOA launches literary platform to amplify diaspora voices

The Vice-President of Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation Americas (NIDOA), South Savannah Chapter, Dr. Oluwatomiloba Ademokun, has unveiled a new literary platform titled Wellness Wahala, aimed at promoting the voices of Nigerian authors in the diaspora.

The initiative, inspired by her forthcoming memoir Wellness Wahala: Faith, Fire and Favour on Diplomatic Duty, is designed to spotlight stories of resilience, identity, and purpose among Nigerians living abroad.

Ademokun, a Nigerian-American public health diplomat, made this known during a virtual interview with journalists over the weekend, where she revealed that the official launch of the memoir is slated for August 5, 2025.

Ademokun said, “Proceeds from the book will be used for humanitarian interventions, including scholarships to students in Nigeria and the diaspora through NIDOA South Savannah, and the Reliable Women and Youth Empowerment Foundation.

“The memoir was birthed in pain, refined in fire and crowned with favour. I pray it inspires a new generation of warriors to rise strong in the face of Wahala.”

She noted that the book is structured around three core themes: Faith, which explores spiritual strength amid delays and disappointment; Fire, which recounts trials such as diplomatic hurdles, health challenges, and betrayals; and Favour, which highlights moments of restoration, perseverance, and divine upliftment.

The NIDOA official called on Nigerians at home and abroad who are interested in joining the movement to connect via social media and support the project.

The vice-president urged persons wanting to become a Wellness Wahala Warrior to follow @WellnessWahala on social media, pre-order or show proof of purchase of the book.
