UK-based Nigerian singer, Banke Naya, delivered a standout performance in Lagos as she headlined a sold-out edition of Jameson Yard, drawing music lovers and industry stakeholders to what has been described as a vibrant homecoming concert.
Born Shalom Oluwabanke Adetumbi, the singer has steadily built a reputation for her soulful sound and emotionally rich delivery, blending Afropop with soul influences to create a distinct musical identity.
Her work, often centred on themes of love, faith, identity and personal growth, has earned her increasing recognition within and outside Nigeria, particularly in the United Kingdom where she continues to expand her fan base.
Her Lagos appearance further reinforced her rising profile as she commanded the stage with energy and confidence, maintaining a strong connection with the audience from start to finish.
“Coming back to perform in Nigeria means a lot to me. It is always emotional and fulfilling to share my music with a home audience,” she said after the performance.
She expressed appreciation for the turnout, describing the experience as a major milestone in her career journey and a reminder of her connection to her roots.
The concert was bolstered by the support of Jameson Nigeria, whose sponsorship contributed to the premium production and overall experience of the event.
Organisers noted that the brand’s continued investment in live music and cultural experiences has helped to strengthen platforms that showcase both emerging and established talents.
The show featured a dynamic lineup of supporting acts including Aramide, Timi Agbaje, Thefolks Music, Star Samm, Sunkanmi Stephens, Remii Music, The Real Ziggymachala, and MC Lexie Armani.
Other highlights included red carpet coverage handled by AMC Channels, alongside contributions from Qentertainment and Cedarmusicent, while Nuri Band provided live instrumental backing.
